Over the years we’ve been joined by some fantastic people. Drawn from the broadest range of backgrounds every member of the ChangeKitchen CIC team – staff and volunteers – has a story to tell. Most importantly, every member of the team is incredibly enthusiastic about what we do and passionate about the difference good food can make to people’s lives.
Back in 2010, the ChangeKitchen CIC team was a small team with a big ambition; to convert a former Birmingham drop-in centre into a commercial catering kitchen. It was hard work, but we’re pleased to say we achieved our goal!
Since those humble beginnings, we’ve used our Birmingham-based kitchen to successfully ‘cook up change’ for countless amazing local and national events.

We’ve welcomed, provided work experience, and offered training to, many volunteers from our local community. With our inclusive culture, our managers have also successfully supported a number of those individuals wanting to work in catering and hospitality but who have found it hard to gain employment, find sustainable work opportunities.
ChangeKitchen CIC is different because we give people opportunities to work in a nurturing and warm team environment. We strive to make an impact through every aspect of our business – from the way we source our ingredients and produce, to how we serve our food, right through to how we manage our waste.
We recruit based on the person, not just their CV, and our enterprise culture is wonderfully inclusive – celebrating diversity for the richness and depth it brings to our social enterprise.
