Excellent feedback from a ‘Women for Refugee Women’ conference

The ChangeKitchen team was very proud to cater for this event, lifting up refugee women and their cause. So good to hear that everyone enjoyed the food so much!

For this event, we created a bespoke menu of hot curries which would be familiar to attendees from all parts of the world. We feel it’s this individualised approach that makes all the difference.

A lovely review from a beautiful evening wedding reception

The ChangeKitchen team recently catered a Greek-themed wedding reception, a testament to our bespoke catering credentials. The happy newlyweds had this to say:

When we first met Birgit to chat about our food requirements, we both knew that she was very knowledgeable about food. Birgit is very helpful & professional. As we aren’t vegetarian, we thought we’d give it a go, as Birgit’s food sounded lovely. 

We came up with some ideas for food, with a greek theme. Birgit made us lots of samples to try at home. They were delicious!

All our guests were really impressed with the food. Not only was it fantastic, there was plenty to go around. As there were quite a few chefs as our guests, they were very happy with the food. The spanakopita & moussaka were amazing!

Birgit is great at communicating, we didn’t have to worry about any of the minor details. We will definitely recommend you to our friends & family.

“Just wanted to say a personal thank you for catering Ciara's 21st birthday party.  The weather was terrible but Tommy and the team cracked on and got everything organised quickly regardless.  Everyone enjoyed all the food and there was so much. We've been eating cake all week! Absolutely delicious and takeaways for everyone.  

The price was very reasonable but the freedom it gave me to enjoy the party itself instead of trying to cater it myself was priceless.

Feedback from a 90th Birthday Party in Martineau Gardens

Lovely feedback from Annabel, whose mum we catered a 90th birthday party for in Martineau Gardens – a beautiful setting for such a special event. It’s always lovely to hear how we have been a key part of someone’s celebrations!

“I had tasted ChangeKitchen’s fare at Martineau Gardens events and at Stirchley community market (where the cooking happens.) It seemed interesting food and the company's values of healthy eating and minimum waste matched our own. As my Mum's 90th birthday party was going to take place at the Gardens, we decided to go with Birgit's catering for the event. Could not have been happier. Birgit was quick to respond, sent sample menus and agreed to meet me in person to finalise details.

The meal itself was a triumph! Delicious tasty dishes, fresh fruit and vegetables arrived in generous portions for our party of 20. All cutlery and crockery was provided and washed up afterwards. We just had to pick up and return this after the party (and eat of course!)

All staff were friendly and reassuring and Birgit made a special point of coming to meet my Mum on the day to wish her a happy birthday and introduce herself, amuch appreciated personal touch.

Only 3 of the 20 guests were vegetarian, but everyone said the food was delicious and we all took home leftovers to keep us going the following week.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend Birgit, Tommy and Denis's service. The meal was just what we wanted and helped to make the day really special.

“We were so excited when we found the ChangeKitchen website from our internet searching. We wanted to have a sit down meal but with an informal feel and with good quality and tasty food. Though only a few guests were vegetarian we knew that if the food was good everyone would be happy and not miss having meat at all! From our first contacts with Birgit we knew that her informal but professional style was just what we were looking for. She gave excellent advice on menu options and combinations and we had the opportunity to taste some of the food first. On the evening all the staff were so friendly and helpful and ensured everyone had plenty to eat. The food appeared as if by magic and everything was cleared away at the end. We enjoyed the way the food was served to the table in dishes and it really helped the party flow as guests helped to serve one another. So many people commented on the variety and tastiness of the food and the wonderful atmosphere it helped to create. We were delighted with every aspect of the service we received from ChangeKitchen from our first enquiries right through to the event itself and the food served up on the night. Another lovely event

It's always great to hear such wonderful feedback and comments! This is the feedback we received from a two-day conference of 50 people in the Midlands ChangeKitchen catered for on both days for lunch. Wanted to share it to give you a bit of an idea what people think of our service: 

"Thanks for buffet at the weekend. Thank you! The food was amazing! I had lots of compliments about the food from both veggies and people who usually aren't veggie. Would definitely use you folks again and I'm happy to tell others about you. Everything arrived hot and on time and was hassle free.

We had plenty so we got some containers from nearby and sent leftovers home with people - I'm having mine tonight."

Its always lovely to hear when an event goes well and especially if the customers send the feedback without being asked for it :-). 

Its lovely, too, that they liked the food so much they took left overs home to enjoy again ... this goes with our low waste policy. In fact, we often provide compostable  take-away containers for the organisers for that matter. Our containers are mostly from Vegwarehttp://www.vegware.com/index.php? , an award winning company that works to cut carbon footprint and climate impact of their packaging. 

Thirdly, its lovely, that the organisers of the event wanted all the food to be vegan with gluten-free options in order to ensure everyone was catered, as well because they wanted the food to be as ethical and environmentally sustainable as possible. Well it looks like it worked. Lots of happy attendees.

Hi Birgit,

We are so glad that we chose ChangeKitchen to provide the catering to our wedding. Not only was it delicious vegetarian and vegan food that suited our tastes and also the specific dietary needs of some of our guests, but it was great value for money and we were presented with lots of tasty, interesting options as we selected the menu. Working with Birgit was a real pleasure as she tailor-made our meal to our requirements and also took on board - and brought to life - our own suggestions.

On the day the service was impeccable and Birgit and her team really worked hard to ensure that the reception and meal went smoothly. With over 100 guests this was no mean feat! Children and toddlers had their own finger foods which went down really well.

Cooking up Change

Our mission here at ChangeKitchen is about cooking up change, change both in terms of the way we think about food and healthy eating, and the social impact that we have on the community and the face of employment. Part of that change is about evolving ourselves and one of those big changes has been the opening of a wonderful new ChangeKitchen café in the beautifully regenerated Stirchley Baths. We are currently serving up our fresh, tasty and ethical dishes and snacks from 10-4pm Tuesday-Friday, and using our new kitchen to cook up amazing food for events held at the Baths and other venues.

Another change that the savvy-eyed among you may have noticed is that we have converted ChangeKitchen blog in to a 'feedback and comments' page. This fantastic new space will be used to share the lovely comments and feedback we have received from our work, events and café at Stirchley Baths. Also, we will soon be using this space to post a series of short weekly testimonials, which will eventually be complied in to a new page on our website.
